freshness

Life has a vitality to it; a freshness in every moment. It is the nature of existence to be changing, evolving, forever new. But normally, we lose awareness of this freshness. Our mind builds up memories; memories upon memories, and begins to see the world through habituated eyes; Responding not to the moment as it is but responding to the moment as seen through this huge weight of memories. So we become dulled to what is; to what is actually here now, happening under our nose. This moment has never been before and it will never come again. It is unique.

So if our awareness can come to the present moment, without reference to memories; When this change in our psychology happens and we feel the present moment as it is, without interpreting it based on our memories; just simply seeing it as it is, feeling it as it is, then of course, every moment is fresh, new, unexpected.

This feeling of vitality is not only sensed in the outside world, it is sensed throughout one’s own being, as well. Cleansed of the heavy weight of living through memories and through worries and anxieties for the future; When this is washed away, we are also left clean and fresh in our being: childlike, innocent, alive. Feel this tremendous vitality again.

In reality, existence is creating itself newly in every moment. It’s unpredictable. It is insecure, for sure. Let go of that need for security, for the known. Plunge into the unknown, which is the reality of existence. Feel how alive that is. In this space, all that is is forever fresh and new; bubbling; alive.
